About Triple Pillars

My interest in incense was piqued after attending a marvelous incense making workshop. After experimenting a bit with locally grown, wild harvested ingredients, I started to pick up ingredients in the local tea shops, occult shops and Co-op markets. Coincidentally, I was reading the novels of Dion Fortune and stumbled upon several incense descriptions which intrigued me. After a bit of judicious experimentation, I found a mixture that worked and began using it for meditation. Friends visiting my home remarked upon it and were amused to find I was making Fire of Azrael incense from Ms. Fortune's novels.

Fast forward several years of training within a Western Mystery Tradition. Several homework assignments included simple incenses. After completing the assignments, I began messing around with increasingly more and more complex recipes. Ellen Cannon Reed's "Circle of Isis" was on my nightstand at the time and using their modern recipe with a few techniques I'd developed, I made a batch and was completely enthralled. After gifting my Kyphi to a few friends, I suddenly found myself surrounded by people asking me to make them incense. Especially Kyphi. Then a dear friend insisted I take this seriously, suggesting I make a little website and begin offering my incenses online.

Being someone who has to know as much as possible about anything I'm involved in, I began reading everything I could get my hands on with regards to magical incenses and the meditative properties. Now an entire bookcase of incense making books, herbals, grimoires later, I'm still experimenting and still desperately trying to figure out web design. Fortunately, my more web savvy friends are incense fans and can be bribed.

Thus begun my love affair with incense.
