FAQs: Questions about Triple Pillars (The Frequently Asked Kind)
1. So what do I get with my order?
Our incense products are shipped in small, air tight one ounce white containers clearly marked with the name of the
incense on the front. For every three ounces of incense you order, we will include a sample packet (roughly 1/4 ounce)
of incense. You may request specific samples on the order form, but we cannot guarantee availability. While not quite
random, we often like to send you a new incense in the same category of incense you ordered, or an incense sample from
another category that we think would match your taste. And yes, sometimes we send you a sample of whatever we have the
most of in stock.
Oils are shipped in amber or indigo glass bottles with plastic stoppers. At this time, we have not yet been able to
find a small enough roller ball top for 1 fluid ounce bottles. If anyone would like to recommend a vendor, please
let us know to the email contact at the bottom of this page.
2. Tell me more about these sample packs!
Certainly! We offer Incense Sampler Packs on our website. Unfortunately, not all of our incense are available in a
sample pack. This is something we hope to offer in the future. Speaking of offering in the future, we're also
working on adding Triple Pillars Blended Oil Sampler Packs to the catalog. Unfortunately, due to the costs involved,
we cannot offer the Traditional Egyptian Oils in this manner.
3. I want pictures!
Oy, I'm working on them. Mea culpa. *whimper*
4. I really want you to make my own recipe, is that what Customer Choice Incense is supposed to be?
Yes, thank you for asking. Email us at IncenseMaker@TriplePillars.com and we'll
go over your recipe and ideas.
5. How do I burn loose incense?
Glad you asked. We recommend using a heat safe container, like a small iron or brass cauldron. Line the container
with salt or sand, roughly 3/4s of the way full. Using tongs, heat a charcoal disk over a candle or steady flame
source. A thin line of sparks pushing across the surface of the charcoal disk signals its readiness. Place it
cup-side down on top of the sand or salt. Sprinkle a small amount of incense onto the disk. We recommend no
greater than 1/8 tsp (.75 ml) until you know how the incense smoke will fill your area. Herb only incenses
or those with smaller amounts of resin burn very quickly. Our favorite way to slow down the burning is to
fold aluminum foil into a packet, place it above the charcoal disk and add incense on top of the foil.
6. Incense Maker, do you take requests?
Yes! Fair warning, these tend to take me quite awhile, so please be patient while I research, find ingredients
and test recipes. Most of the time I can fill these requests and produce a wonderful incense within a few days
via trial and error, if I already have all the ingredients. That said, I've been working on a Coyote Incense
for one very patient customer for almost a year and she's going to slap me if I don't get back to her soon
with something wonderful and lovely.
7. What's with all the pronoun confusion?
Triple Pillars has several worker bees and an apprentice. The business is run by the resident Incense Maker,
Trista. She is also to blame for the crappy, simple website. *ducks and runs*
8. Is that dog or cat hair in my incense?
We have included the fur of one of our exotic and incredibly powerful familiars at no cost to you to
supercharge your incense. *ahem* Yeah, I wouldn't buy that one either. We don't allow the pets in the
same room where we make incense and we check each order carefully, but its certainly a possibility,
though we haven't had any complaints. We've recently shaved everything in the house that couldn't escape
our evil clutches, including ourselves, the neighbors and the mailman. Sorry! If its really a problem,
please email me so I can bribe us back into your good graces with incense samples.
